In response to Governor Gavin Newsom’s Proclamation of a State of Emergency related to COVID-19, the State of California is preparing for, responding to, and implementing measures to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 and preparing for increasing numbers of individuals requiring care.
The Department of Social Services (Department) is announcing the availability of $21 million to support one-time $500 awards, issued via paycards, to caregivers working in qualified Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly (RCFEs) and Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly – Continuing Care Communities (RCFE-CCRCs) during the pandemic.
